As I mentioned in my party planning guide, there are a lot of things that need to come together when you’re throwing a big event.
The first step in planning your wedding is choosing a theme. Try a theme like your honeymoon destination, favorite city, or hobby. Next, layer the color scheme.
These days, you can find all kinds of wedding invitations online, from virtual ebooks to official printed cards.

For my niece’s wedding I needed three tables to accommodate the guests, so I wanted each table to have a common color scheme.
Based on the flower template from my printable games, I decided to use hot pink, white, gold and green as my color scheme.
Since we were having buffet style food and drinks for the wedding, I decided to use white tablecloths and gold buttons instead of full decor. (Tap the left/right arrows to shop similar gold chargers below.)
Then I placed free printable wedding tips on the shelves along with gold pencils with washi tape. A pencil will come in handy if you play wedding games.

I chose a mix of white hydrangeas, pink roses, pink and white gerber daisies and small pink roses. I like the bright and colorful display.
For the accent greenery, I used seeded eucalyptus, which I recommend for a mix of textures. so cute!
I always keep a few square vases for special occasions. They produce good porcelain and do not crowd the ground decorations. Another good choice for flower arrangements is a mason jar. (Click on the images below to purchase.)
My main formal dining room table was too big for a table, so I decorated it with two fake eucalyptus garlands (6 feet each) and real roses. These garlands will come in handy at future events for friends and family!

The last element I incorporated into the tables was the table spread. This combination of pearls and acrylic gemstones is suitable not only for weddings but also for other formal occasions.

When I hosted my parents’ 50th birthday party last spring, I decided to make the chairs myself. I thought about renting chair covers, but realized I could make my own chair for less.

To tie the ribbon to the occasion, I made biscotti flavored bags and made a “thank you” sign with the Cricut. My niece was going to Italy on her honeymoon, so I tried to sprinkle in some Italian accents here and there.
On Amazon, you can buy a large box of biscuits or other cookies to wrap individually. I used baker’s chocolate before placing each biscuit in plastic bags.
