There are lots of easy ways to make a small room feel bigger, and today we’re going to look at how to maximize space in a small room that’s already decorated. I’ve noticed that I like change, and since it’s been over 3 years since we’ve decorated this area in our house, I was ready for a little break. 😉 Our room isn’t huge at all, it’s about 12 x 14′, which means there isn’t room for a ton of extra furniture, and I worked hard to come up with a design that would enhance its style and budget. . (We do the whole room under $300.) I hope these simple small room decorating ideas help you decorate your small room beautifully and affordably. Simple ideas to decorate a SMALL living room with intensity Although each of these ideas can be used individually, I recommend trying 3-5 of them to transform your space. Create a sense of space 1. Open-frame nightstands Using open-frame nightstands makes the space feel cooler and more open. Don’t be afraid to use a sound table for a night dream. We have these gold metal tables from HomePop that we can use as nightstands and they are perfect for our room. I love their geometric bottoms and rounded mirror tops. 3. Floor-to-ceiling curtains Install floor-to-ceiling long curtains. Long curtains will create the illusion of a high ceiling and add softness to the space. Try a standing mirror for dressing, a wall mirror for accessories and on your nightstands to add dimension. HE LIKES YOU TOO. Use color 5. Wall paint on a deep, dark wall adds depth to a small bedroom. Try this behind your bed or on a wall with a window. 6. Light paint Use light paint on all other light and airy walls. I prefer white (or close to white), but lighter colors can work too. 7. White Bedding Having a white bedspread, comforter or blanket on your bed is an instant way to brighten up a dark and small room. And just because you have white sheets doesn’t mean you can’t add color to your bed with pillows and cushions. Raise things up 8. Bunk Beds Although I couldn’t use this idea in my bedroom, I think that bunk beds or loft beds are a great way to use the space in a small bedroom. We put a king size bed in my son’s room and can store all his LEGO cars and his DIY LEGO table under his bed; it’s amazing. 9. Soft lamps Add space to bedside tables by placing a lamp next to or above the bed. Be sure to nail them or use drywall fasteners to hold them in place. 10. Wall Shelves Don’t have a bookcase but want to store books? Add wall shelves above a desk, dresser or dresser to make use of wasted space above your furniture. 11. Wall Hooks Got a big blank wall you want to fill? Hang hooks on it to get things off the ground and out of the way. Strategic Furniture 12. Tall Drawers Instead of using large or tall drawers, choose to use tall, slim shelves to store your clothes. This allows it to fit into small corners and free up more space for other furniture in your room. 13. Small Bench Don’t have room for an accent chair in your living room? Add a small bench to the end of your bed for easy sitting. Need more storage space. Try a storage pool. 14. Corner Bed If you don’t mind having just one bedside table or side table, try placing your bed in the corner. This makes more room for other things. Another tip I have is to make sure you have a headboard that defines the “head” of your bed. 🙂 15. Corner Desk or Vanity Other items you’ll want to have that fit well in a corner are a desk or vanity. Placing them in the corner takes up very little space while giving double the desktop space. Under-Bed Storage You don’t have to have “bed storage” designed to increase your under-bed storage. Get long, short bags and store seasonal clothes, books, or other items in them to use for storage under your bed. . Focal Point Create a focal point when you enter a room. this could be an accent wall (as mentioned above), a headboard, or even a piece of art. The benefit of a focal point is that it draws the eye away from other objects in the room and gives the impression of inviting someone in. confusion 21. Plants or greenery are a good way to calm a room. I mean, who doesn’t feel calm and peaceful in the desert, right? It’s an easy way to add comfort and style to your space, and they’re affordable too. Add fun, colorful pillows to your bed. Have plants or greenery in your decor. Try soft rugs. , even on the carpet.
