If possible, a small seating area is a great way to invite guests onto the porch. The idea is to make the balcony comfortable and not crowded, so size will be very important.

To add more personality to a small space, you can add a simple porch chandelier like I used on my summer porch a few years ago! This adds more layers and takes up much less space.
By using outdoor candles with battery power and automatic timers, there is no need to remember to turn them on and off. The outer layer does not melt in the hot sun (aka plastic) and is waterproof.
This is my own front door! This is one of my favorite tiny house ideas because you can choose colors to match your style! I’m a fan of the vintage look, so I painted my door a gorgeous shade of green (without removing the door hinges!).
If you can fit a chair, rocking chair, or bench on your porch, a cozy throw or pillow will add an extra layer of appeal! I used the winter porch throw shown below, but you can also use lighter throws or porch pillows in the spring and summer.

This is one of the best ideas for a small hall because it adds personality in a relatively small space. If you’ve never heard of it before, a house post is a tall, vertical marker that sits against a driveway wall.
Porch canopies have been a trend for some time now. They work well for any space, but I especially like them for smaller spaces because they give you more visual impact. This is especially true if you’re making a front porch sign like the one featured on The House on Silverado (she has a great tutorial on how to make your own reversible front porch sign).
This brings me to my additional tip: light your hallway from two sides! That way, when you get bored with one design, you can swap it out for another. This is great for seasonal designs where you can have a Thanksgiving theme on one side and a Christmas design on the other.

Before And After Budget Friendly Front Porch Makeover
A few weeks ago I was pulling into our driveway, looking at the little porch and saying, “Oh. Holy winter hangover mode, Batman.”
