There are many easy ways to make a small space look bigger, and today we’re going to look at how to maximize space when decorating a small space! I find that I love change and since we’ve been decorating this part of our house for over 3 years now, it’s ready for a little update! 😉 Our room isn’t that big – it’s about 12′ x 14′ – which means it doesn’t fit a lot of extra furniture, and I’ve worked hard to create a design that elevates its style but stays narrow. . Budget (Use the whole room for under $300!) I hope these small bedroom decorating ideas help you decorate your small bedroom stylishly and affordably! Easy Small Home Decorating Ideas on a Budget While each of these ideas can be used individually, I recommend you try 3-5 of them to transform your space! Create a feeling of spaciousness 1. Low beds Shorter bed designs, such as platform beds, give the impression of more space and are affordable because they do not require suspension! You may also like: 15 similar designer beds for half the price 2. Open frame nightstands Give more room and space with an open base bed. Don’t be afraid to use accent tables for nightstands! We got these gold metal accent tables from Homepop to use as nightstands and they are perfect for our living room. I love the geometric base and the round mirrored top! 3. Floor-to-ceiling curtains Install floor-to-ceiling curtains. Long curtains create the image of high ceilings and add dignity to the room. The cheapest option for curtains is DIY curtains. Accent wall Painting an accent wall a deep, dark color adds depth to a small bedroom. Try it behind your bed or on a wall with a window. 6. Light colors On all other walls, use light colors that are light and airy. I prefer white (or almost white), but pale colors work well too. 7. White bedspread Placing a white blanket or bedspread on your bed is a quick way to brighten up a dark and small bedroom. And just because you have white sheets doesn’t mean your bed can’t add some color with pillows and sheets! Moving Things 8. Beds Although I couldn’t use this idea in my master bedroom, I think a bunk bed or loft bed is a great way to make the most of the space in a small room. We put a bunk bed in my son’s room and can store all our LEGOs and a DIY LEGO table under his bed – it’s amazing! 9. Hanging lamps Brighten up your closet space by placing a lamp next to or above the bed. Be sure to nail them with studs or use drywall anchors to make them durable! 10. There is no space on the wall shelves to store books, but you want to store books? Place some wall shelves above a table, bath or dresser to make the most of the space lost above the furniture. 11. Wall Hooks Got a big empty wall you want to fill? Hang multiple hooks with it to get off the ground! Strategic furniture 12. Long wardrobe Instead of big or long clothes, choose long and narrow clothes for storing clothes. This allows it to fit into a small corner and creates space for other furniture in your room. 13. Small Bench No accent chairs in your living room? Place a small bench at the end of your bed for easy seating. Need more storage? Try a storage owner! 14. Corner bed If you don’t mind having only one shelf or table, try placing your bed in the corner! This leaves more room for other things. One of my suggestions is to make sure you have a headboard that defines the “head” of your bed. 🙂 15. Corner desk or dressing table One thing you want to keep well in the corner of the house is a desk or dressing table. Placing them in the corner takes up minimal space and gives double space on the desktop! Maximum Storage 16. Hidden Pet Beds Big pet beds like ours? Store under the bed You don’t have to have a designated “storage bed” to increase under-bed storage. Get a long and a short bag to use the space under the bed to store and store clothes, books or other things. 18. Organized Closet I recently went through decluttering and organizing my closet and it’s been a big deal! Add colorful pillows to your bed. Add plants or greenery to your decor. Try a soft pillow, even on a carpet!
