We met with clients, together, discussed ideas, discussed key activities and worked out a budget. Space was limited so we had to plan accordingly. To get a bigger shower, they had to remove the little-used jacuzzi. We wanted to make the shower the ‘show stop’ of the room!
Kid’s Bathroom Design Ideas With Tile To Grow Into
With notes in hand, we returned to our office and began the design process. We created a new floor plan and then selected the furniture for the room. Our aim was to find the simplicity of a farmhouse combined with clean lines to create a modern sporty feel. Farmhouse touches we’ve brought in include natural-colored cabinets, stained glass, dark metal mirrors, dark mirrored mirrors, and tall stone-look subway tiles.
My favorite touch is the penny rounds used in the shower, which are gold mirrors and frosted foil!
After choosing materials, a lighting plan, and removing any plumbing fixtures, we created the bathroom wall makeover. We like to create a complete picture for our owners, so we used pictures and showed samples of building materials and furniture. We then collected all the samples and finalized the design images and went to our client’s house to show them all off! Screening sessions are the best!
Our customers approved the design! We have created a construction plan and ordered all construction materials! It was important to have all of these materials on hand once our team started work, so there were no delays in completing the project. We know how stressful any construction project can be.

It’s important to add minimal or modern details to your space to prevent any of the farmhouse elements from feeling more rustic.
A fun way to add some farmhouse chic to a fairly modern bathroom? “Add a sliding barn door,” Lingfelt said. Not only can this give you more square footage to work with, perfect for a small space, but it can add the visual interest you need to take your bathroom to the next level.

Jade Joyner, founder of Steel + Petal, evokes the look and feel of the modern home with a focus on clean, simple touches. “The apothecary bathroom is known for its matte black fixtures and white subway tile, very Chip and Joanna,” says Joyner.
Don’t be afraid to add a touch of nostalgia, suggests Joyner. Country-inspired details can look modern when paired with clean accents.
While most bathrooms in modern homes stick to neutral, simple colors, Joyner said she likes to mix and match decorative elements when working with a modern farmhouse.
“I like to push the farmhouse bathroom, since it’s usually a light color, to be a bold, modern color on the walls or on the main wall,” she said. “No one wants their house to look like their neighbor’s. Embrace the style, but do it.” Add a fun tile or dresser to bring it home.

Joyner’s best advice for homeowners to decorate this landscape? “Don’t go for a garden theme or a view, because it can leave a flat space,” he said. “Instead, add textures, layers, and combine your collection with bold, modern art.”
For a while, it seemed like homeowners were moving away from brown wood furniture in favor of a clean, white look. But Candace Poltz, principal designer and founder of Candace Plotz Design, says it’s time to bring it back.
“Within the design industry, we’re seeing a resurgence of wood,” Poltz said. “If you want to add great design and warmth to what might otherwise be a cold space, white is a beautiful and easy choice.”
Gray is a great way to add a warm and inviting feel to your bathroom. Here, a blanket ladder is used to display Turkish towels that add symbolic expression and act as visual interest at the same time.
