Master Bathroom Remodel Ideas On A Budget

Master Bathroom Remodel Ideas On A Budget – Our little master bathroom is complete! In this post, I’ll talk about how I turned this small bathroom into a fully functional master bathroom, including a budget breakdown with all the resources!

Our bathroom is very small. 5 feet by 8 feet with a small bathroom. Since there are only 1.5 baths in this home, this full bath should be used as the master bath. Although the place was good, the interior looked very old. After renovating the kitchen and bedroom, it’s time to give the bathroom some love. Again, we really wanted to

So we played with the layout: we moved the toilet into the bathroom and used that extra space to create the double vanity dream! For the bathroom, we moved the toilet to get a shower/tub combo.

Essential Elements When Remodeling Your Master Bathroom

Here’s the before picture if you haven’t seen the bathroom design post yet. This photo was taken at a home showing when they were selling the house.

In the beginning, my husband and I planned to start our bathroom in the summer of 2018. In fact, I removed all the bathroom wallpaper because of the excitement of “our house is starting shower!” As the renovation project is progressing, there will be a series of small delays in getting all the finishes and equipment ready. However, the biggest delay is finding good contractors that we like and coordinating them with their schedules.

So 4 months later our chosen contractor will start the renovations at the end of December 2018! Go ahead! The process took about 3 weeks, but with some delays due to the holiday season. Finally, we got a new bathroom with all the big parts well done, such as the sink and the quartz floor, a toilet that was done, the doors and panels were freshly painted, but not …

At first, installing wallpaper was part of their work. But at the end of the work, they did not want to do it. We think that the installation of wallpaper for curved walls in old houses can be difficult. So I decided to make wallpaper as a weekend DIY project, with a little help from my husband. This is our first time installing wallpapers. Thanks to some YouTube videos, we were able to do it over the weekend! I am very happy with the wallpaper decision. Along with the poster without decoration, it adds to the atmosphere of the place.

In vain, the easiest decision is to buy online, preferably with a table top to keep the prices. However, our bathroom is very small and that means there is not enough space to work with a 60″ double sink. I have searched a lot for double vanities that are less than 60 inches wide, but the options are limited because 60 inches is the smallest you can get with a double vanity. Finally, I went to a local cabinet shop and worked with them to adapt two 27″ W kitchen cabinets for a double vanity.

The default layout for each cabinet is an error box on top and a double counter below. In my storage experience, the box takes up less space. So I asked the gift shop to change the order of the pair. This way, you will have a dedicated drawer to use and store items.

The price for this “used” vanity is not bad, about $600 plus $100 to change the cabinets. The construction of this stone is very expensive. A breakdown of the bathroom renovation budget can be found at the end of this post.

I love mixing metallics for a casual and collected look. I love the combination of nickel and brass – it brings out the old world charm. Bronze accents look great with this wallpaper from Anthropologie.

One tip I have when choosing metal items is to consider which are the hardest to replace. Because I knew that it would be difficult to replace the water tank and toilet faucets (usually they involve plumbing), I went for a polished nickel finish – a safe and classic option. I love brass work, but I worry that one day it will lose its appeal, so I use brass accents on things that are easy to replace like drawer knobs and handles, light fixtures

Fresh flowers or plants on the dressing table are a big plus. I cut some penstemon flowers that were growing in my yard and attached them to the branch cams that I had trimmed a few weeks ago. BTW, the camellia branches last forever!!!

One thing I really wanted was a closet above the bathroom that had an open floor. I shared an inspiration photo in the bathroom design. Communication with the contractor is very difficult because it is not common. But in the end I’m glad I was able to push through! There are many compartments to hide toilet paper, toothpaste, toilet remote, etc.

Genius Small Master Bathroom Ideas That Wow!

I really liked the open floor under the cabinet. This is the perfect place to add some style (aka beauty) to this small master bathroom.

I used this space to place the diffuser, which is a must in all bathrooms. I also added some pretty lights and a fairy light in the glass terrarium – I set a timer for the light to come on between 7:00 and 12:00. The goal is to add some ambient lighting in the bathroom for a nighttime bathroom without turning on a very bright light.

Recently, I became interested in houseplants. This pilea plant takes up a lot of space! Eternal life? Too big for the open space on the shelf, I have 2 small pilea plants ready to fill that space!

1. The towel wall above the fabric looks empty. I plan to add 2 graphic elements to it. I’m also thinking of putting small pieces of art on the wall above the toilet paper holder.

2. The current shower curtain is too short. The bathroom is a bit touchy. I plan to extend it by 2 meters. This will make the room look bigger and bolder!

Here’s a breakdown of the budget. There are two parts: 1. How much does the contractor have to pay; 2. Goods purchased by us. The total cost is around 20,000. The cost of the contractor’s work may vary from place to place. Here in Silicon Valley, work can be expensive.

Our master bathroom was absolutely disgusting when we bought the house. It’s not the same as in 1986, carpet on one side, tile on the other. We didn’t know we wanted to blog, so we didn’t really like the “before” photos, but it was a quick look at how bad it looked during the demo.

We are not responsible for this hot activity in the bathroom! I think it has been there since the original owners built the house in 1986!

We were told that the cost of a bathroom renovation is between $15,000 and $20,000. HA! I had to redo the master bathroom for less than the cost of some of the vanities I’ve seen. It’s a challenge, but I love finding effective ways to innovate. To remodel my bathroom, I needed to find everything for less than $5,500. This includes:

I realized that most of my budget is vanity. There is simply no other way. I looked everywhere and got estimates that went up to $7,000 for the cabinets and countertops alone. It took me a week to find a solution. At this point, I knew I needed to save elsewhere.

My favorite is Tarkett vinyl flooring. Property worth $306! With all the money we saved on our project, we were able to pay for the removal of the tile that was left behind in the bathroom and the installation of the floor (it is easy for the husband to install it himself). bathroom). We chose this platform because of our budget and limited time,
