For instant sunburn relief, there’s nothing like cold water to cool the skin and ease the first symptoms of indigestion.
Dr. Luke says: “Cool water or a washcloth helps to soothe the irritation and inflammation and relieves the burning sensation.
Reduce the water temperature to sub-zero. “If you have sunburn all over your body, spend five to 10 minutes in the shower or bath,” says Dr. Luke. “Repeat every two hours to relieve symptoms.”

Although previous animal studies suggest that applying vitamin E to the skin helps reduce sunburn damage, current human studies are lacking. Still, it doesn’t hurt to try.

But it’s all BS. “Vinegar can cause more irritation because it’s very acidic,” says Dr. Luke. “This can further damage already damaged skin.”
In fact, an article published in the June 2015 Journal of Clinical and Aesthetic Dermatology found that vinegar contains 4-8 percent acids that can corrode the skin and cause severe chemical burns. It’s pretty much the last thing you want to put on rough, blistered, burned skin.
“Some people like to make a baking soda paste to treat sunburn because they believe it can adjust the skin’s pH to become more alkaline,” says Dr. Luke. “But there is no science behind this method.”
