While it is difficult to remove all toads from your yard, there are steps you can take to make your yard less attractive to toads. Since toads will go anywhere they can prey on insects, keep the room lights off as much as possible to prevent insects from flying around. Also, remove standing water in the garden, because frogs can use the eggs. If you find small eggs floating in water sources, remove them before they hatch into tadpoles. To create a toad barrier in your yard, mix 1 part salt to 4 parts water and sprinkle it around as this will burn the toads’ legs and keep them away.
