I’m happy to say that our fall outdoor decorations this year aren’t just about the porch. Our exterior isn’t finished yet (we haven’t landscaped the front yet), but our driveway and front yard received major improvements this summer. Little by little, we place our hunt where we want. Except for the fresh pumpkins and fall flowers, everything here is stuff I already have. I love the sight of pumpkins filled in the bright afternoon on the porch – but in these trying times, when many have lost their jobs and are on tight budgets, it seems pointless to me. I have become more aware of what I am and what I contribute to the earth and, as a result, I become more innocent in my beauty. I think buying pumpkins helps local farmers, so there’s a balance!
What is your favorite for jewelry? Do you like a neutral front porch? Or do you like farmhouse front porches? Think corn husks, bales of hay and baskets of apples. The kind of curvy where you can sit back and enjoy a watermelon latte.
