Our small master bath update is beautiful because of the quality of the materials and the colors we chose. I’ve included a list of everything we used to remodel the master bath and pool tub!

After researching this topic, I learned that a typical bathroom remodel costs upwards of $3,000 depending on the size of the bathroom, the materials you use, and whether or not you do most of the work yourself.

We hired someone to completely redo the bathroom and with the cost of materials and labor we spent less than $3,000.
As I mentioned earlier, the cost of a small bathroom renovation depends on many factors. If we had done the job ourselves, we would have spent about $1,500 on materials. We replaced everything except the toilet in the bathroom, so the cost of the new floor was included.
The cheapest way to redo a small bathroom is to paint everything (cabinets, tile, tub/shower, walls, etc.)…you’d be surprised what a difference paint can make in a bathroom!

Small Bathroom Layout Ideas That Work
Here are the little changes I made to this bathroom until we are ready to complete the full renovation:
To be honest, the only things we bought at Home Depot for this bathroom remodel were the shower head, light fixtures, tub, and faucet.
We bought the tiles and all the materials to cover the walls and floor of the bathroom from the company “Floor and Decor”. We chose Flooring and Decor because they have a great selection of beautiful mosaic tiles and your staff was very helpful in making sure we had everything we needed to complete this project.
I decided to use modern colors for this bathroom remodel. Designing a full bathroom remodel can be stressful, so I highly recommend creating a mood board like I used Canva.
Practical Small Bathroom Storage And Design Tips
By putting all my ideas together and the products I wanted to use, I had an idea of the overall look and style of the bathroom I wanted.
Not only does this bathroom serve as a master bathroom (as it is connected to the master bedroom), but it also serves as an outdoor/pool bathroom as there are doors that lead out to the backyard and pool.
Having 2 doors and a window on the wall makes it difficult to store things in this bathroom. The space we chose gave us more storage space so we could move the medicine cabinet off the wall.
We also added wood around the window (tutorial coming soon!) to give the window a finished look.

The hole in the ceiling disappeared, and we removed the first aid kit from the door wall.
I also used the same Golf Rub-N-Buff on the vanity that I used when renovating our sons bathroom.
The Gold Leaf Rub-N-Buff looks great with other contemporary gold fixtures in the bathroom and really pops against the white vanity and green walls.
I repurposed some wall hooks from Ikea and hung them on a single wall for hanging towels. We decided to place the toilet paper dispenser at the bottom of the towel because that is the most convenient place to reach it when you are on the toilet 😛
