If you’re interested in what I’m talking about, you can read all about our basement renovation here. Many of you have been asking for an update and to be honest we haven’t done much since the last time we shared. It all stopped when we had Isaiah last year, but we’re ready to get back into it.

Inexpensive Laundry Room Update

Finishing the cottage style basement will be a blessing to our family in many ways. My husband and boys are excited about the family room/TV area, but I think I’m most excited about the laundry room!

I love that this corner of our basement provides storage for tubs and laundry, stain removers, and hangers, but I think it’s also the perfect kitchen for when we have guests over. I envision a coffee pot in the corner and maybe a mini fridge or microwave.

I also think this space could be good for watering cans or garden items, clay pots or seedlings. We will see!

Today I want to focus on the laundry aspect of this space and tell you what I love about these laundry room inspiration photos.

Laundry Room Makeover Mistakes You Don’t Want To Make

First up is this beautiful laundry room full of galvanized metal and a large antique sink. It reminds me a lot of a metal sink I bought on Facebook Marketplace a few years ago.

I love the idea of potting and fresh flowers in our laundry room, but I especially love the open shelving concept. This brings me to my second inspiration photo which comes from one of my favorite blogs – Sincere Marie Designs.

My friend Amanda is great and her home is absolutely amazing. From the day she finished this laundry room in her home, I knew it would one day serve as inspiration for our cottage laundry room!

I love the open shelving and consoles and am especially drawn to the vintage items she has incorporated into the space. An old cylindrical plate and a clear glass canister are perfect in this space. I love every detail!

How To Make Your Laundry Room Look Better (and Actually Enjoy Laundry Day)

We also plan to use open shelving, similar to the shelving in my dining room. I already bought the exact same baskets and we plan to hang pegs for storage as well.

This next photo is a great example of a pegboard shelf and I also love the artwork incorporated into the space. Another thing I like about this picture is the use of brass, both on the faucet and the light fixture.

Open shelves will not only provide storage space for laundry, but also for historical finds and unique treasures that I have been collecting since we established the space. I have some old hangers, some vintage clothes, antique baskets and much more.

All the cute things in the next picture of cottage laundry room inspiration I already have my wheels. I can’t wait to get the chance to design more shelves!

Laundry In The Master Bedroom

I love playing with decor and next time I’m thrifting I’ll be looking for white jugs, enamelware, vintage ladles and rolling pins!

My color scheme for the space is pretty neutral. I like the walls to be creamy white to make the space feel bigger, but I will add color by painting all the trim. I’m going to stick with the color I used in my mudroom, Benjamin Moore’s Revere Pewter.

I love the use of gray and white in Debbie’s laundry room. The whole space is very light and airy, but I love how it combines warmth and texture with wood tones and baskets.

Overall, I love how simple the cottage-inspired laundry space is. Not too busy or too busy, a break from the eyes as I’m sure the piles of clothes will be busy. This latest laundromat has it – simple yet sophisticated.

The Best Laundry Room Makeover On A Budget

I love the painted millwork on the white walls and the vintage dryer breaks up the space and brings warmth in the cutest way!

I hope you like this laundry room style inspiration. It really helped motivate me and I can’t wait to start working in this space. I promise to share more with you all soon! Are you ready to give your laundry room the makeover it deserves? From old appliances to damp walls, your basement laundry room has the potential to become a modern and functional space. With the right supplies and a little know-how, you can transform this neglected area of your home. In this article, I will share with you the results of our basement laundry renovation, and we hope it will inspire you to upgrade and modernize your basement laundry to make it more efficient, comfortable, and enjoyable. !

We started this project in May as part of the eight-week One Room Challenge event. Even though we weren’t done in this timeline, my husband Sean and I kept going, completing this DIY renovation on the weekends and our day jobs and finally creating the laundry room of our dreams!

I am delighted to be working with The Home Depot Canada again on this renovation. As do-it-yourselfers, we know that in their stores we can always find the necessary materials and stylish products to bring our vision to life.

Budget Utility Room: How We Created An Affordable Laundry Space — Jade Lisa Interiors

I’m not bragging when I say that in 15 years of DIY home renovations, this is our largest, most challenging, and most rewarding project ever.

We literally built this room from the ground up. We started this project with two washing machines in the middle of a large unfinished utility room. While this works, we really want an attractive and dedicated laundry room. I was thinking of plenty of space where the washing machine is not on the concrete floor, where the detergent and laundry basket can be stored, with good lighting and a neat counter instead of a folding table where we fold our clothes.

To increase functionality and make it more aesthetically pleasing, our plan is to convert our large utility room into a separate basic utility room and combine the laundry and training space with the help of The Home Depot Canada.

That’s a couple of happy (and tired) renovators. Before I dive into the details, let’s go back to where this room started. This renovation required a lot of work to split the utility room in two and finish every surface in the laundry room.

Maximize Laundry Room Storage And Organization

Creating a dedicated laundry room means installing new subfloor, building new walls, and hiring an HVAC professional and electrician to do some work. We framed the ceiling (at three different heights!), installed heavy drywall, and did whitewash and sanding—all jobs we’d never done before.

It can be scary to try something you’ve never done before. We learned a lot from watching YouTube videos, through trial and error, and from the pros by asking the experts at The Home Depot Canada. We argued and fought, made many mistakes, and spent days covered in drywall dust. But we did it, and building that room is probably one of the things we’ve done as a couple that I’m most proud of.

With the structure in place, we moved on to the design details: installing peel and stick wallpaper, laminate flooring, painting the walls, and installing a boat trap. The cabinets are a mix of pre-assembled cabinets that we bought off the shelf and panels and shelves that we made ourselves to match the cabinets.

One thing I liked about this project was the availability and ease of the different purchase options. We’ve saved a lot of time and energy by shopping online at homedepot.ca and having some of the larger and more complex products like the six cabinets and 7′ side panels delivered right to our door.

Diy Laundry Room Countertop (using An Old Door!)

To make it more difficult to find products like single doors in a specific size, I was able to shop online while inventory was available and select “Store Pickup” to pick up the door of my choice. It’s great to know that we have all the materials we need to complete our renovation ready and waiting.

Of course, we can also shop in the store. I won’t soon forget a date in a rented van from Home Depot Canada with hamburgers and 15 sheets of drywall loaded in the back!

Layout of the laundry room It is difficult to know the layout of the laundry room. The low ceiling height in some parts of the room really limited us in terms of where we could put the cabinets.
